AFC Swim Lessons

Swim and Stroke Lessons

Certificate holders and rental members of AFC can sign-up for private swim lessons with one of the AFC member instructors.

Lesson Overview

There will be two sessions of group lessons offered in the morning: Session 1(10:00-10:30am) and Session 2(10:30-11:00am).

Three levels of classes will be offered during each session to accommodate a wide variety of student capabilities and desired skillsets.

Lesson Costs

The cost of the lessons is $70/week

Lesson Program Schedule

The lesson program will run for 6 weeks with the first week being June 20th and the last week being July 25.

No classes will be held on Mon, July 4th – so on that week the classes will be Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri with no “make up day”.

Skill Level Overview

Below is an overview of skillsets for Levels 1-3

Successfully completed Level 1

Streamline body position and forward propulsionJump in pool, kick to surface and swim 10 meters on front using arm circles. Return kicking on back
Level 3Be separate from parent for 30 minutes

Able to swim with arm circles and kick for 10 meters with face in the water
–OR–
Successfully completed Level 2

Side breathing and introduction of backstrokeTread water for 1 minute

Jump in deep end and swim ½ (half) lap of freestyle with side breathing. Rest and finish the lap in same manner.
